UPDATE: POSTPONED to November 12th.
The Community Farm opening at Crocker scheduled for Sunday 10/15 has been postponed due to the bad air quality San Francisco is experiencing because of the fires in Northern California. Our hearts are with our neighbors to the north, who have lost so much to these fires. We hope you can join us on Sunday 11/12 from 12-4pm, for our Farm Opening Celebration.
Our community has been plagued with bad policy decisions resulting in environmental racism in our southeast SF neighborhoods, which has led to disproportionate asthma, cancer, heart disease and other respiratory illnesses. Given this, we want to encourage our neighborhood families to stay home and out of the smoke this weekend, which is projected to have a very high amount of harmful particulate matter.
This Sunday 10/15, we invite you to join us at an indoor event at Excelsior Works at 5000 Mission St. to show solidarity with all the families affected by the fires up north. From 11am-2pm we will be collecting money to donate to communities affected by the fires. We will also be accepting donations of honey to make syrups (for respiratory system health) and n95 face masks.
