Matter of Trust is an ecological public 501 c 3 charity established in 1998. We concentrate on renewable resources, programs for manmade surplus, natural abundance and eco-education. The Matter of Trust Eco-Center opened in the sunny inner-city Mission District of San Francisco in June of 2013.
Our mission is to balance abundance with needs.
We identify and develop solutions for manmade surplus, sorting waste into useful stockpiles and for redistribution within communities.
We research and highlight innovations and experts on renewable resources, then mobilize public support and promote advances with enthusiasm.
We produce and deliver local and online eco-educational programming in collaboration with partners and we celebrate green career paths.
Mother Nature acts as a catalyst, provides for necessities, orchestrates enduring cycles, and integrates systems. We follow her lead. Intentionally, we only concentrate on what we DO want to see in the future for our environment.
Certificate of Honor by Mayor Gavin Newsom, City and County of San Francisco. Honoree Lisa Gautier, President, recognized for dedication to urban environment and city dwellers around the world particularly in support of the United Nations World Environment Day 2005.
